The company says it is intensifying its efforts in favor of the circular economy and goes even further by offering HDPE (high density polyethylene) cans for the Quartz Xtra range, which are made from 50% recycled plastics² and are 100% recyclable .

“We are committed to offering our partners and customers solutions that promote a circular economy. This project demonstrates our technical expertise and our ability to innovate by putting our products at the service of both efficient and sustainable mobility, ”notes Jean Parizot, Automotive Director of TotalEnergies Lubrifiants.

The recycled resins come from a treatment unit where the waste is crushed, separated and transformed into reusable granules. Recycled material represents 50% of new packaging, specifies the company.

Quartz Xtra HDPE cans are fully recyclable several times. The waste is recycled into secondary raw materials without changing the basic structure of the material. Quartz Xtra lubricants manufactured in Europe now benefit from this new packaging for the 1 and 5 liter formats.

This innovation reinforces the use of recycled plastics in TotalEnergies packaging and contributes to the company’s ambition to offer energy that is ever more affordable, clean, reliable and accessible to as many people as possible.
