The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center is looking for service providers to offer localized, cohort-based technical assistance to farmers focusing on grass-based production, local forage production or alternative management strategies.

Technical assistance providers will recruit cohorts from at least five dairy farms in the Northeast, provide individual and group on-farm technical assistance, and help participants apply for NE-DBIC grants to implement improvements. Contracts will be issued up to $ 150,000.

Good Food Award 2022 finalists

Twenty-six specialty food products from fifteen Vermont companies were recently named by the Good Food Foundation as finalists for the 2022 Good Food Awards.

“This wide array of high-quality Vermont companies are bringing great Vermont food to the world,” Agriculture Secretary Anson Tebbetts said. “These companies represent the wonderful food and beverage artisans of Vermont who focus on quality, creativity and commitment to their community.”

ACORN Virtual Annual Meeting

Join the Addison County Relocation Network this Wednesday as they feature a virtual conversation with a panel of four women who work in different aspects of the Champlain Valley food system.

ACORN Executive Director Lindsey Berk will moderate a panel discussion while Anna Freund, Samantha Langevin, Laura La Vacca and Pauline Stevens cover a wide range of topics such as access to food, education, agriculture , work and shopping. You’ll also hear a year-round recap on local food, current challenges and opportunities, and hear what’s on the horizon for 2022 and beyond. Registration is compulsory.

Call for agro-tourism presentations

The call for presentations for the 2022 International Agrotourism Workshopis now open! Submissions are now being collected for the following types of presentations: 20 minute oral presentations, 60 minute workshops and poster presentations. Do you know anything about agrotourism that you would like to share at this year’s conference?
